8 Makeup Hacks for Younger Looking Skin

While aging adds wisdom, it also adds wrinkles, fine lines, and makes the skin saggy. With age comes hormonal changes, wrinkles on the forehead and neck, bags under the eyes, or saggy eyelids. However, thanks to makeup, you can still hide them. The right kind of makeup will not only help hide signs of aging but also enhance your looks. To help you, here are eight makeup hacks for aging skin

1. Moisturize before makeup
Use weightless moisturizers that hydrate your skin. Avoid heavy moisturizers as they can compromise the makeup. Once the moisturizer is soaked, use a fast-absorbing primer to cover the wrinkles or fine lines.

2. Cover up just a little
Applying too much makeup to camouflage wrinkles will draw attention. Change to a good hydrating foundation, use a brush, and apply minimally. Then use a lightweight and creamy concealer that can blend well with the foundation.

3. Shade of foundation
Usually, one always chooses a shade that matches their skin tone. As you grow older, choose a warmer foundation than your skin tone by at least a couple of shades. A foundation that matches your skin tone makes you look older. If you already have a foundation that exactly suits your skin, along with your face, also apply it on your neck so that there is only a subtle difference.

4. Bronzer
You may have used bronzer only on your cheeks. As you grow older, use the bronzer under the cheekbones, sides of the nose, and brush it across your forehead and jawline. It adds natural warmth and glows to the skin.

5. Blush
Usually, smiling while applying blush is the norm. However, as you grow older, apply blush on the cheeks and blend it inward. If you apply setting powder, skip it.

6. Eyes
Discard your old mascara and choose ones that are not thick. Eyelashes become thinner, and thick mascara can make your eyelash brittle. Choose one that can nourish your eyelashes. Choose eyeliner that contrasts with your eye color. For eyeshadow, use a smaller brush, start from the outer eye, and move inwards to make the eyes look bigger.

7. Lips
It is quite common as we age; small changes happen to the shape of your lips. Always use a lip pencil to outline the lips and use lighter lipstick shades, starting from the four corners and going towards the lips’ center. Use a brush to apply the lipstick.

8. Be subtle
Do not go overboard to cover your wrinkles or fine lines. As you age, try out newer products, use new procedures that are safe, painless, and are better suited for your skin. Change to skincare routines that have fewer chemicals and more natural ingredients. They are not only safe but also keep your skin hydrated and well-nourished.
